Last night, Head to Health, the Australian digital mental health gateway, won Best in Class at the Australian Good Design Awards.
This is one of those special awards, one of the ones it genuinely means something to win. It is super competitive, with over 700 entries from around the world, has excellent judges, and very high standards. So to win at any level is great, but to score Best in Class is brilliant.
We shared the award with the Australian Department of Health and the Core Community Group, the 50+ ordinary Australians with lived experience of mental health issues who we worked with for most of a year, to create a site that now serves over 25,000 people a month.
The judges recognised all of the key elements that make H2H special, including the friendly world-building, the mental-model-based navigation, the effective information hierarchy, and the subtly sophisticated Sam the Chatbot, all of which were the products of hard work and extensive collaboration between Liquid, the Department, the CCG, and our development partners at Speedwell.
Congratulations to everyone for a great win!
Head to Health is a great example of co-designing a digital service for government. If you want to learn more, read our case study.
